Due to unforseen circumstances, the third edition of the Women’s Day 5K Run and Walk will this year be held on Sunday 20 May and will be sponsored by Vostar.

The change of date from March to May may be an advantage as the weather is more predictable at that time of the year.

The location chosen this year, after discussion with the sponsors and the local council concerned, is Sliema.

Registration opens at 9am and the starting point will be Gnien George Bonello Depuis at Tigne. The route will follow the Sliema promenade with a turnaround point near Barracuda restaurant and back to the starting point.

The Women in Sport Commission are working hard to make this event a success as it has been in the past two editions. The garden at Tigne will be a hub of activity with several supporting sponsor stands, who will be giving free advice on their products. The runners and walkers will warm up to a Zumba class and visitors may join in as well. Children taking part will be treated to face painting.

The Run and Walk is open to the public. There are no restrictions to age or gender. Everybody is welcome and children are encouraged to participate as well. Registration is free and a commemorative t-shirt will be given to all participants. Water stations will be available.
